From 2017 I realized my first decolonizing-silent-walk-performative city tour URBAN BODIES PROJECT. This was invited to the international festival THEATER DER WELT. Afterwards, this project was invited to Amsterdam, to the international dance festival JULIDANS, and to Stuttgart, to the festival DIE IRRITIERTE STADT. Later, the project DECOLONYCITIES followed in Hamburg in 2019 and 2021. Both will be supervised by a diverse and international team under the new platform founded by myself called SHAPE THE FUTURE."

SHAPE THE FUTURE - 2022

SHAPE THE FUTURE is a newly founded artistic platform by Mexican-German choreographer Yolanda Gutiérrez.
SHAPE THE FUTURE produces with an international team the projects URBAN BODIES PROJECT, DECOLONYCITIES and DECONSTRUCT SPACES in public space.
SHAPE THE FUTURE develops structures to realize performative tours in different cities and contexts worldwide - be it in museums, harbors, at monuments or specific city locations shaped by colonialism. By means of dance interventions, new perspectives are cast on locations of colonial remembrance in order to demonstrate their inherent political, national, and international relevance. While URBAN BODIES PROJECT and DECOLONYCITIES deal concretely with the reappraisal of colonial history, DECONSTRUCT SPACES is primarily intended for those cities that have no colonial past. In this way, other historical mechanisms of power are also deconstructed through dance.
